We are calling on non-government organizations and academic or research institutions that have the capacity to carry on the implementation of a subnational EITI in their locality. Grantees are expected to conduct a scoping study on the area where the subnational EITI is to be implemented and to establish an interim multi-stakeholder group that will drive the implementation of the said initiative.

We are calling on non-government organizations, academic or research institutions, or a partnership of these organizations who are qualified to (1) assess the current system of royalty payments between IP groups and mining firms, (2) develop a model contract that can serve as the basis of future negotiations, and (3) to disseminate the findings at the provincial or regional level. This program is aimed at promoting transparency in the negotiations and implementation of contracts/memorandum of agreements (MoAs) between mining firms and IP groups.
