The Green Thumb Coalition (GTC), of which Bantay Kita is a member, organized a local election sortie held at the Antique State University last March 9, 2016. The event was attended by no less than 1,700 people including local politicians which includes incumbent Governor Rhodora Cadiao and former Governor Exequiel Javier.
GTC representatives Atty. Aaron Pedrosa discussed the eight main objectives of the coalition citing in particular issues related to coal mining in Semirara island in Antique. Election candidates present during the sortie signed the Green Thumb Covenant after the presentations. The Antique election sortie is one of the thirteen sorties held for the May 2016 elections by the coalition which includes more than 40 national and local organizations pushing for a green agenda in the elections.
