BK presents PH mining fiscal policy in Vietnam

BK Comms and Research officer Marco Zaplan presented about Philippine mining fiscal policies in a forum held in Hanoi, Vietnam last May 13, 2016.

The forum titled “Improving Extractive Revenue Collection: From Practical Lessons to Solutions for Revising the Royalty Law” was attended by participants from civil society and also provincial representatives from the Department of Taxation in Vietnam. The forum was organized by the Vietnam Mining Coalition and PanNature.

Mr. Zaplan presented a situationer of the Philippine mining industry and the current fiscal regime in mining. He also discussed House Bill 5843 which Bantay Kita lobbied in the 16th Congress. He was joined by Emanuel Bria of the Natural Resource Governance Institute.
